Fermat Software Announces a Cybersecurity Compliance Service for Businesses
Fermat Software announced today a cybersecurity compliance service for businesses that perform work for the federal government. Specifically the service targets assessment and compliance as outlined in NIST 800-171 (Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Information Systems and Organizations) and NIST 7621 (Small Business Information Security: the Fundamentals)
Fermat Software has launched a cybersecurity compliance service to assist government contractors as outlined in NIST 800-171 and NIST 7621. Under the interim rule issued in December 2015, DFARS 252.204-7012 non-federal government contractors must provide adequate protection for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) by 12/31/2017. Any contractor or subcontractor that does not adhere to this rule could be prevented from future business with the federal government.
Fermat’s compliance service has two components: (1) an assessment service (2) a remediation service. The audit/assessment service will expose any gaps that the contractor may have as it relates to compliance with NIST 800-171 and/or NIST 7621. The remediation service will implement solutions to ensure the contractor has addressed any non-compliance items.
